Pongal pre mix (250g)

A Pongal pre-mix is a convenient, ready-to-cook South Indian breakfast blend that combines pre-measured rice, split yellow moong dal (lentils), and traditional tempering spices into a single shelf-stable mix.

How It Works

• Storage: Kept in an airtight container, a dry-roasted homemade or store-bought mix lasts anywhere from 1 to 4 months at room temperature.
• Cooking Method: Typically, 1 cup of the mix is combined with 3 to 4.5 cups of water and pressure-cooked for 3 to 4 whistles (or simmered in a pot) until it reaches a soft, comforting, porridge-like consistency.
• Finishing Touches: An extra dollop of melted ghee is usually stirred in right before serving, paired traditionally with coconut chutney, sambar, or vadai.
